About the Artist, Kazuko Kano

A native of Tottori, Japan. Kazuko Kano is a master Japanese calligrapher (Shodo) and artist. Since 1982, she has been studied Japanese calligraphy and a member of the Japanese Calligraphy Education Foundation (JCEF), a national organization in Japan that ranks both amateur and professional calligraphers, issues licenses to calligraphy teachers, hold national competitions, and supports the dissemination of the art of calligraphy worldwide. Her works were sometimes displayed in museums in Japan.
She holds a B.A. in literature from Kobe Women's University and a high school teaching license from the Japanese government.
